I’ve been testing the TP-Link Archer AX21 for several weeks, and it’s impressive what you get for $59.99. This WiFi 6 router delivers solid performance with its 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth split between 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz bands. What I like most is how it handles multiple devices – the OFDMA technology really makes a difference when you’ve got phones, laptops, and streaming devices all competing for bandwidth.
The setup process is straightforward, and I appreciate that it’s Certified for Humans, which means TP-Link has simplified the experience. The VPN server support (both OpenVPN and PPTP) is a nice bonus at this price point, and Alexa integration works as advertised.
With 4.4 stars from 23,803 reviews and 74% five-star ratings, it’s clearly resonating with users. However, I noticed the range isn’t spectacular in larger homes – you might need a mesh system if you’re covering more than 2,000 square feet. The 2.4 GHz band also feels a bit limited at 574 Mbps compared to some competitors.
For the money though, it’s hard to beat this router’s combination of WiFi 6 features and reliable performance.
